Code of Conduct

Overview

Prior to registering for an Internet2-hosted gathering, including conferences, community events, workshops, webinars, and virtual events (collectively, “Events”), all Participants must review and agree to the Internet2 Events Code of Conduct and Participant Consent.

A “Participant” is any individual who registers for or attends an Internet2-hosted Event.

By acknowledging the Internet2 Events Code of Conduct and Participant Consent at the time of Event registration, Participants agree to all terms outlined therein. Additionally, by registering for and attending an Internet2 Event, you agree to comply with the Internet2 Events Code of Conduct and the terms of the Participant Consent.

Events Code of Conduct

Internet2 is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and harassment-free environment for all Participants at Events, and to that end, Participants are expected to follow this Events Code of Conduct.

Internet2 values fair treatment of all individuals and expects attendees to interact professionally and respectfully towards one another. Discrimination or harassment of any type, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, or religion is not consistent with Internet2’s values and will not be tolerated.  Examples of unacceptable behavior include offensive comments; discriminatory language or behavior; deliberate intimidation, stalking or unwanted attention; inappropriate physical contact; harassing, derogatory, or demeaning conduct; or other behavior that demonstrates a lack of professionalism or respect for another individual.

Enforcement

If Internet2 believes a Participant has violated this Events Code of Conduct, Internet2, at its discretion, may ask such Participant to leave the event without warning or a refund. In some instances, such behavior may be reported to law enforcement officers.

In addition, Internet2 reserves the right to prohibit Participants who violate this Events Code of Conduct from attending future Events hosted by Internet2, and also reserves the right to alert a Participant’s employer of violations of this Events Code of Conduct.
