Events Code of Conduct and Participation Consent
Prior to registering for an Internet2-hosted gathering, including conferences, community events, workshops, webinars, and virtual events (collectively, “Events”), all Participants must review and agree to the Internet2 Events Code of Conduct and Participant Consent. A “Participant” is any individual who registers for or attends an Internet2-hosted Event.
By acknowledging the Internet2 Events Code of Conduct and Participant Consent at the time of Event registration, Participants agree to all terms outlined therein. Additionally, by registering for and attending an Internet2 Event, you agree to comply with the Internet2 Events Code of Conduct and the terms of the Participant Consent.
Events Code of Conduct
The MS-CC follows the events code of conduct that Internet2 requires at its events. =
Internet2 and the community are committed to promoting a positive environment at our events and conferences for our members and the research and education community. Our community values fair and equitable treatment of all individuals and expects our attendees to interact professionally and respectfully towards one another. Discrimination or harassment of any type, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, or religion, is not consistent with our values and will not be tolerated.
Unacceptable behavior includes offensive comments; deliberate intimidation, stalking or unwanted attention; inappropriate physical contact; harassing, derogatory, or demeaning conduct; or other behavior that demonstrates a lack of professionalism or respect for another individual.
Participants are expected to follow these rules at all Internet2-hosted events. Participants violating these rules may be asked to leave an event without warning or a refund, at the discretion of Internet2. In some instances, such behavior may be reported to local or federal law enforcement officers. Participant Consent
Any person who attends an Event grants Internet2 permission to collect their Personal Information (as defined below) in line with the Internet2 Event Registration Privacy Notice, and to use and publish their image or likeness. You may review the Event Registration Privacy Notice by clicking here.
Personal Information: By submitting your name, contact details, and other information related to the administration of the Event (“Personal Information”) to Internet2, you acknowledge and agree to Internet2’s privacy practices. Internet2 will collect Personal Information for Event-related purposes. Unless you indicate otherwise, this information may be shared with our partners as necessary, except where prohibited by law. Photography and Videography: By attending an Event, you consent to being photographed, videotaped, audiotaped, or otherwise recorded during the Event. Visual and audio recordings may be used by Internet2 for various purposes aligning with its business objectives, including promotion of Internet2 and its associated programs. Some business objectives may include but are not limited to, the creation of Internet2’s promotional materials, marketing campaigns, educational resources, and other documentation. Your consent acknowledges that these recordings may be disseminated via multiple mediums, including but not limited to, websites, social media platforms, publications, presentations, broadcasts, and archives.
Health And Safety: By attending an Event you agree to follow all health and safety protocols established and implemented by Internet2. This includes any measures related to COVID-19, other public health concerns, and venue safety protocols as necessary.
Waiver of Liability: By participating in any Event, you acknowledge and consent to Internet2 performing all actions described herein. You agree to hold harmless Internet2 and its affiliates, members, trustees, agents, officers, contractors, volunteers, and employees against any and all legal claims arising from or related to all actions described herein, and any use or distribution of associated materials.
Internet2 is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage that may occur during your attendance at any Event, except in cases of willful misconduct. Further, Internet2 reserves the right to cancel any Event at its sole discretion. If an Event is cancelled for any reason, Internet2 shall not be held liable for any resulting damages, losses, or expenses incurred by Participants.
