Currently the Associate Director for Telecommunications at Texas A&M University and the Associate Director for the Academy for Advanced Telecommunications and Learning Technologies. Walt has his Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree from the University of Minnesota and is completing his Ph.D. at Texas A&M University. He is responsible for the statewide telecommunications services for the Texas A&M University System and has done extensive work in support of distance education networks in over 30 countries. He is the co-chairman of the Voice-over-IP Working Group for the Internet2 advanced research network, serves on the Association of College and University Telecommunications Administrators (ACUTA) Publications Committee and chairs one of the subcommittees for the State of Texas Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund (TIF) Technology Advisory Working Groups.
