Session Abstract In 2010 the Optical Internet working Forum (OIF) released an Implementation Agreement (IA) for a compact, 5" x 7" single optical carrier, coherent, 100G module. A number of components are emerging to provide support for these 100G modules. This talk will discuss some technologies that enable 100G transmission, and additionally a few applications such as transponding and muxponding that utilize 100G transmission.
