Session Abstract This panel of illustrative case studies will showcase applications at the intersection of Health, Science, Culture and Education. The Midwest Regional Collaboration will leverage advanced network infrastructure to support health information exchange and telehealth in four states in the Upper Midwest. Learn how this health network infrastructure will support the exchange of large health datasets like diagnostic images, reliable SaaS-based Electronic Health Records, and telehealth applications using real-time HD videoconferencing. Gain insight into a technique known as data sonification which aims to solve the challenges of predicting volcanic eruptions and has also given birth to a unique collaboration between science, technology and the arts in a dance performance in Washington D.C. entitled ‘The Mountain’ - enabled by the GÉANT and partner research and education networks. Finally, understand recent innovation within the K20 community using advanced networking to further educational goals. This showcase of application work promises to be inspiring and thought-provoking.
