    Session Abstract The Internet2 ION (Interoperable On-demand Network) service allows researchers to build temporary point-to-point circuits with a guaranteed bandwidth. The service is being transitioned from the Ciena CoreDirector platform to the Juniper routers over Summer 2010. This presentation will examine how 'quality of service' concepts are being used to provide the assured bandwidth guarantees that distinguish circuit services from the routed IP network.
