Experimental Remote Participation
You will need to have the following to participate as a fully interactive participant.
- Intel based Mac OS 10.5 or lator, or Windows XP or lator computer with dual core or better processor, at least 1GB of RAM and video card that supports DirectX.
- A broadband Internet connection (recommend at least 768K in both directions)
- A good quality USB webcam (recommend Logitech 905C for laptops or Logitech 910 for desktop)
- A good quality USB headset, headphones, or echo cancelling mic All remote participants are required to connect to a test room before connecting to a live session, to verify system settings and connectivity.
Please use the following process:
- Using the equipment described above, click this link http://vidyo.internet2.edu/flex.html?roomdirect.html&key=JMXZwmm4jPtP
- Put your name into the "Guest" field and click "Join"
- You will be directed to a page to install the client. Click "Install VidyoDesktop" and run the installation. At the conclusion of the installation, you will be connected into the test room.
- Verify that your audio and video are fine. Copy the PIN number that is being shared in this room. You will need it to access the room the day of the event.

To connect the day of the event,
- Click on http://vidyo.internet2.edu/flex.html?roomdirect.html&key=Lylz2eEsh3mv 10-15 minutes prior to the start of the session you wish to join. Enter your name in the guest field and the PIN number that you copied down from the pre-test in the PIN field. Then click join.
- You will be connected in the room with the meeting moderator who will verify that your audio and video devices are working properly and will ask you to mute your audio when you are not asking questions.
- Just before the session begins, the moderator will provide everyone on the call with an overview of the VidyoDesktop tool bar.
- The room will be locked at the start of the session and no additional participants will be able to join the meeting at that point.
