Air Travel and Car Rental Information

Northwest Airlines

Airline reservations can be booked through Conlin Travel at 734-477-6046 or 800-936-1587.  Please indicate that your travel is for the summer ’09 Joint Techs in Indianapolis, IN.

Travel dates eligible for discounts are valid from July 12th through July 30th, 2009.  The discounts will only apply to airfares that are over $120.00 per airline policy.

Avis Car Rental

Car rental reservations can be made through Conlin Travel at 734-477-6046 or 800-936-1587.  For those who call Avis directly (800-331-1600), the discount number is J996958.  Online reservations can be made directly go here.

Discounts are available 7 days before and 7 days after the event.

Transportation/Parking

Daytime parking is included in our meeting package however overnight parking will be charged at the discounted rate of $10.00 per night.

Day Guests Only:  Please see Marie or Angi at the Registration desk for your day passes.  You will need to turn a pass in to the parking attendant when you exit the garage.

Overnight Guests:   When you check in at the front desk you will be recognized as a meeting attendee and will be issued with passes at the discounted rate of $10 per night.  This charge will be billed directly to your guest room. Please be sure to ask if you do not receive this at checkin.  If you experience any problems, please see Marie or Angi at the Registration Desk.

Centered on the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), the conference center and hotel convey an intellectual atmosphere within the setting of a large urban campus.

The National Art Museum of Sport is an exceptional attraction at University Place.  It is the nation’s premier collection of sports-related art with more than 800 works and reinforces the city’s identity as the “Amateur Sports Capital of the World.”

Block Name: Please reference ‘Joint Techs 2009 Summer Conference’ when making your reservation.

Block Dates: Friday July 17 through and including Thursday, July 23

Block Rates: Single $139.00 / Double $159.00.

Guest rooms are subject to applicable state and local taxes in effect at the time of check-in. The current tax rate is 16%, but subject to change without notice.

Block Cut-Off Date: The room block has now closed. The discounted rate is no longer guaranteed and will depend upon room availability. Night of July 16th is sold out but rooms remain available for all other nights.

Reservations Method: Reservations can be made by calling 1-800-627-2700 (select Option #1).  Attendees should reference ‘Joint Techs 2009 Summer Conference’ when making their reservation to ensure the discounted rate.  Reservations must be made by 5:00pm local time on Tuesday June 30, 2009. 

After this date, reservations will be accepted on a space and rate availability basis.  All rooms are subject to applicable taxes.  Guests are responsible for their own room charges, tax, and incidental charges.

Check-in: 4:00pm    Check-out: 11:00am

Guests arriving early will be accommodated as rooms become available.  Guests attending functions on their day of departure must check out by 11:00am and if needed, bell staff will store luggage until departure.

Cancellation Policy: All reservations must be guaranteed by a valid major credit card, which will be supplied at the time of reservation. Reservations canceled less than 24 hrs prior to day of arrival and/or “no-show” rooms will be billed one night’s room and tax to the respective guest’s credit card.

Guest Rooms: University Place guestrooms are designed to make it easy to unwind after productive meetings or long hours of travel.  278 rooms are furnished with traditional, comfortable fabrics and contemporary furniture.  All University Place guestrooms meet the unique needs of corporate travelers and those attending conferences.

Corporate travelers who enjoy staying connected have the luxury of complimentary high-speed wireless and wired technology. Workspace is generous with ergonomic chairs and plenty of desk space.
