Why reserve a room in the Fall Member Meeting hotel?

Fall 2009 Member Meeting attendees are strongly encouraged to stay at the Hyatt Regency San Antonio, the conference hotel. When you reserve within the Internet2 block you receive a discounted room rate; lodging conveniently located at the meeting venue; and you help Internet2 meet its commitments to the hotel. Because Internet2 receives a rebate on all rooms booked within the block, you also help keep the meeting registration fees low for the entire community.

Lodging is available for all events taking place within the block dates as specified below.

Block dates: Friday October 2, 2009 through and including Friday October 9, 2009

Block rate: $199/night for single or double occupancy.  $224/night for triple or quad occupancy. 
Hotel room rates are subject to applicable taxes in effect at the time of check in (currently 16.75%).

Reservation method: Reservations may be made, modified or canceled on line using a customized reservation website, dedicated to this event. If you experience any problems using this website, please call this dedicated reservation phone line 1-888-421-1442 and mention the Group Name - Internet2. Individuals can also make reservations by calling the hotel directly at (210) 362-6340 or by calling Central Reservations at 1-800-233-1234, and in either case, refering to the Group Name: Internet2 and Meeting Name: Internet2 Fall Member Meeting.

Guarantee and cancellation policy
All reservations must be guaranteed by a major credit card or first night room and tax deposit. Cancellations will be accepted up to 48 hours prior to arrival. The deposit is refundable if 48 hours notice of cancellation is given and a cancellation number obtained. Credit cards will only be charged in the event the reservation is not cancelled at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled arrival.

Travel dates eligible for discounts are valid from October 2, 2009 through October 11, 2009. The discounts will only apply to airfares that are over $120.00 each way ($240.00 total) or greater per airline policy.

Rates are available from September 28, 2009 through October 15, 2009, guaranteed and include unlimited free mileage.  Return to the same renting location or additional surcharges may apply. Weekend daily rates are available from noon Thursday through 11:59 PM ET Monday (vehicle must be checked out by 3:00 PM Sunday).

Rates do not include any state or local surcharges, tax, optional coverages or gas refueling charges. Renter must meet Avis' age, driver, and credit requirements.

Driving Directions from San Antonio International Airport (12 miles)
Take 281 S. which will turn into I-37 S. near the downtown area. Follow I-37 S. and exit Houston Street. Turn right on Houston. Proceed 5 blocks to Broadway. Turn left on Broadway and continue down 3 blocks. Hotel is on the right. (Broadway changes names to Losoya Street).
