Internet2 and Internet2 members are participating in SC08, the annual Supercomputing conference, taking place 15-21 November in Austin, Texas. SC08 is expanding the frontiers of high-performance computing by challenging the combination of computation, networking, storage, and analysis and hosting an exceptional technical program, an expanded exhibits area, an exciting education program and much more. Internet2 Network Infrastructure at SC08
SCinet, the very high-performance network built each year to support the SC Conference, pushes the advanced networking envelope to enable some of the most demanding and cutting-edge applications in the world. Internet2 is collaborating with the SCinet committee, in partnership with Internet2 Connector the Lonestar Education and Research Network (LEARN) and its members in Texas, to support the networking requirements of participants and exhibitors. SCinet at SC08 will include:
- Connections to more than 15 Dynamic Circuit Networks
- 60 Gbps total of service contributed by Internet2 as part of SCinet WAN networking
- Connectivity to the Internet2 IP an Internet2 Dynamic Circuit Network
- A number of additional Internet2 WaveCo circuits to support specific applications
Internet2 on the SC08 Showfloor (Booth #943)
The Internet2 both at SC08 will highlight the exanding role of advanced cyberinfrastructure supporting leading-edge research, including demonstrations of the latest advances in Dynamic Circuit Networking and Performance Nodes, as well as Internet2's support of network research.
