These two meetings are being hosted by the Internet2 Special Interest Group on Emerging Research and Education Networks in conjunction with the Internet2 Member Meeting which will be held in April of 2007 at the Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, VA. Information on the two meetings, schedules and preliminary programs can be found at the links above.
The meetings cover the countries of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Participation in the meetings are open, but rsvp is required (see the individual meeting pages).
The meetings are expected to bring together representatives from:
- national research and education networking organizations from countries in South Asia
- major scientific and academic user groups in South Asian countries and the US
- telecommunications infrastructure providers
- international organizations such as the World Bank and other regional associations government and other funding agencies from the US and other countries
