Fall 2003 Internet2 Demo Submission Form
Internet2 is soliciting advanced networking applications demonstrations for
the Fall 2003 Internet2 Member Meeting.
For more information about the plans
for fall demos, refer to the Call
for Demos web page. Demo submissions are
due June 23. Please contact Elaine Lauerman
if you have any questions. For examples of demos from previous events, refer to
http://apps.internet2.edu/demo-archive.html.
Selection Criteria
Applications for demonstrations are evaluated on the following criteria.
- Ability to demonstrate benefits of the Internet2 environment.
(e.g., highly interactive, network intensive, and/or multi-site computational applications)
- Being an Internet2 member-led application in teaching, learning, or research (Internet2 members are welcome, as are collaborations with federal agencies and international partnerships)
- Current state of readiness (the application works today)
- Dependency on network attributes of Internet2 (e.g., has requirements for low latency and/or high bandwidth or uses such network features as multicast, or IPv6)
- Ability to run across a high-speed wide area network, such as Abilene. (If you do not have a connection in place today, one option would be to identify a university site that could host the remote systems/servers.)
- Uses IP as the bearer service (no native ATM or ATM virtual circuits are provided)
- Ability to provide necessary resources (including equipment and personnel to support the demonstration. If you need assistance with equipment, we can perhaps help with loaner/rental contacts.)
